Richard Morrell is a seasoned architectural professional currently serving as Principal at Hames Sharley since May 2024 and as an ARBV Examiner for the Architects Registration Board of Victoria since September 2020. Previously, Richard held the position of Senior Associate at Populous from March 2021 to March 2024, where responsibilities included establishing the APAC Design Leadership Group and promoting design excellence across regional studios. Richard has a strong background as an Associate at Cox Architecture from September 2015 to March 2021, leading major sports and cultural projects, and as a Senior Architect and Design Lead at Grimshaw from February 2010 to March 2012, focusing on retail design transformation. Richard’s earlier experience includes architectural roles at prestigious firms such as Gensler, Glenn Howells Architects, and Eva Jiricna Architects Limited, along with notable projects like The Eden Project and numerous Apple Retail stores. Richard holds multiple degrees from De Montfort University, including a Bachelor of Architecture (Hons) and a Diploma in Architectural Practice.
