James Clarke

James Clarke has a diverse work experience in government and public service. James is currently serving as the Director of the Mayor's Office at Hamilton City Council since March 2020. Previously, they worked as a Senior Policy Adviser at 10 Downing Street from March 2018 to February 2020. James also held positions at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government as an (Acting) Deputy Director in 2018 and as a Senior Policy Adviser from July 2017 to February 2018. Prior to that, James worked as a Senior Policy Adviser at the Department for Education from November 2016 to July 2017. James also served as a Senior Policy Advisor at the Cabinet Office from October 2015 to November 2016. James Clarke's earlier roles include being a Team Leader at HM Revenue & Customs from February 2014 to October 2015, a Policy Advisor at HM Treasury from January 2012 to February 2014, and various roles at the Department for Work and Pensions from September 2009 to January 2012.

James Clarke's education history includes attending the University of Birmingham from 2008 to 2009, where they pursued a degree in International Security. Prior to that, from 2003 to 2006, they studied at the University of Leeds, majoring in International Relations.
