Janet Carson

Janet Carson is an experienced professional currently serving as the General Manager of Partnerships, Communication and Māori at Hamilton City Council since January 2024. Previously, Janet was the Chief Executive at GasNZ from September 2021 to January 2024 and contributed as a Board Member for the Bioenergy Association from November 2021 to November 2022. In earlier roles, Janet was the Director at Caucus PR from May 2014 to September 2021 and managed communications on a contract basis at Te Puni Kōkiri from August 2019 to August 2021. Janet held the position of External Relations Manager at OMV from December 2018 to December 2019 and served as the External Affairs Manager at Shell in 2017. Janet also was a Board Member at the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority from October 2011 to December 2017 and led communications at Todd Energy from October 2012 to December 2014, as well as at Contact Energy Ltd from July 2010 to November 2012. Janet holds a Bachelor's Degree in Law from The University of Waikato and has furthered education at the New Zealand Institute of Directors.
