Hamilton Zoo Assets & Safety Manager at Hamilton City Council

Jesse Golden is an experienced professional in wildlife management and conservation, currently serving as the Hamilton Zoo Assets & Safety Manager since April 2017. In this role, Jesse implemented an asset performance framework for informed decision-making regarding asset renewal and maintenance, while also coordinating asset maintenance and project logistics. Previous experience includes guiding staff development at Hamilton Zoo, developing natural history tours at Encounter Kaikoura, and serving as Security Chief at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center. Additional roles include Interim Assistant Curator at Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo and Ungulate Specialist at White Oak Conservation Center. Jesse holds a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation from the University of Florida and an Associate of Science in Zoo Animal Technology from Santa Fe College.
