Lance Vervoort

Lance Vervoort is an experienced leader in community services and park management, currently serving as the Chief Executive and General Manager, Community at Hamilton City Council since May 2010. With a background in managing a diverse group of 450 staff, Vervoort oversees various community services, including parks, recreation facilities, and cultural institutions. Prior to this role, Vervoort served as Parks and Gardens Manager at Hamilton City Council and worked as a freelance Parks and Environment Consultant. Vervoort’s prior experience includes serving as General Manager of Parks at Auckland Regional Council, where significant achievements included the acquisition and development of new regional parks and overseeing safety management during major sailing events.
