Laney Lane is a lead preschool teacher at United Community Schools and also works as an emergency dispatcher at Hamilton County 9-1-1 Emergency Communications District, in the role of 980 at Iowa State Patrol, as an emergency 911 dispatcher at Webster County, and as a substitute teacher at Fort Dodge Community Schools. In addition, Laney owns Laney's Basket Creations, where Laney creates handpainted, embellished, and etched glassware for weddings and special occasions. Laney previously worked as a communications specialist II at Iowa State Patrol Communi. Laney holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice/Police Science from Buena Vista University and is currently pursuing a Masters in Education at Drake University.

Located in Chattanooga, the Hamilton County 9-1-1 Emergency Communications District proudly provides emergency and administrative support for thousands of residents, visitors and first responders throughout Hamilton County, Tennessee. Through the use of state-of-the-art technology and a highly trained staff, we work to exceed the expectations of our community in their critical time of need. The District is the primary public safety answering point for all communities within Hamilton County, except Soddy Daisy and Lookout Mountain. The District employs more than 170 Telecommunicators, supervision, administrative, technical and support staff. District Telecommunicators answer an approximate average of 2,000 calls for service each day from residents and visitors in Hamilton County. Telecommunicators also dispatch responders for all public safety response disciplines - law enforcement, fire and EMS - across 26 various agencies.
