Fatima Sheikh is a Health Equity Specialist at Hamilton Health Sciences and a Graduate Research Assistant at McMaster University since September 2020, where contributions include leading the creation of the COVID BEACONS REDCap database, conducting a scoping review on social determinants of health related to adult sepsis, and serving as a Teaching Assistant for a course on Statistics & Epidemiology. Additionally, Fatima is a Communications Assistant with Sepsis Canada, where responsibilities include creating newsletters and leading advocacy for World Sepsis Day. As Director of Research Development for the Canadian Synthetic Biology Education Research Group, Fatima focuses on advancing synthetic biology education and has held various leadership roles within organizations like SynBio Canada, Eye Level Learning, and the McMaster Public Health Association. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Health Research Methodology and a Master’s of Health Science, both from McMaster University, along with a Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences.
