As President of Hamilton Innovations since its inception in 2015, Jeff Knighton brings over twenty years of experience in designing, developing and deploying telecommunication products and services that serve the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. Jeff is responsible for managing new product and software development, innovative research and technical assistance for Hamilton NG911, Hamilton Relay, as well as the other diversified business lines of their shared parent company, Hamilton Telecommunications.
Jeff has a long history of advancing technologies that can help people with different abilities to communicate effectively with each other. His passion for innovation led to the creation of the first web-browser to TTY communication system which later evolved into the “IP Relay” industry, enabling Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Deaf-Blind individuals access to Relay services over the Internet. He has designed and developed software for low-vision users to effectively use telephones as well as developed a tty modem algorithm that has since been widely used in various industries, including telecommunication relay systems, public safety, business communication environments.
During his time at Hamilton, Jeff has managed the launch of important initiatives, including leading the successful introduction of Hamilton CapTel for Business Interconnected by Tenacity, a service which allows Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals to read text captions on their workplace phones.
