Randy Chavez has extensive experience in law enforcement, working at the Hammond Police Department since 2000, where roles have included Hit and Run Investigator, Police Sergeant, Corporal in the Traffic Division, and Patrol Officer. In addition to law enforcement, Randy has served as a High School Teacher in Criminal Justice at the School City of Hammond since 2011. Prior military service was completed with the United States Marine Corps from October 1993 to October 1997. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice/Police Science from Calumet College of St. Joseph and an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice/Police Science from Purdue University Northwest, along with a High School Diploma from Lake Central High School.
