Matt Robertson

Director of Corporate Services at Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service

Since completing a Building Surveying degree at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Matt has had a varied and dynamic career.

Joining the Royal Navy in 2010, Matt deployed operationally across the world until joining Hampshire County Council as Strategic Consultancy Lead; bringing the importance of asset lifecycle decision-making and the strategic development and management of a range of projects to a range of public sector clients.

In 2016 Matt took on the leadership of the estate for Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service. Within this role Matt led the implementation and management of the organisation’s property strategy; setting strategic direction for the Service in terms of property, estates and facilities. During this role, Matt established an ambitious estate strategy and investment programme to revolutionise the way in which the fire service utilised and drove value from its property assets.

In July 2018, Matt was appointed as Chief of Staff, providing strategic advice to the Chief Fire Officer and Executive Board. Within 6 months the role developed, and Matt was appointed as the Director of Corporate Services, becoming a member of the Executive Board and providing senior leadership to the corporate functions of the organisation.

In his current role, Matt provides senior leadership to the corporate functions of the organisation, including property and estate management, facilities management, Digital including ICT, fleet and equipment management, stores and logistics, technical services, administration, corporate governance, information compliance, insurance, contract management and partnerships. Matt also acts as the organisation’s Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO).

When not working, Matt enjoys long walks with his partner and dog, reading and refurbishing his house.
