Clay Wise is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the fields of data science, information technology, and geographic information systems (GIS). Currently serving as an Enterprise Data Scientist at HRSD since October 2007, Clay Wise provides critical data analysis and modeling services while also having held roles such as Chief of Information Technology Operations & Support and Enterprise Architect. Clay Wise has been an Adjunct Instructor at Tidewater Community College since January 2011, teaching various GIS courses. Previous experience includes owning WiseGIS, offering GIS and Oracle database consulting, and working with the City of Virginia Beach in roles focused on GIS coordination and systems analysis. Clay Wise is currently pursuing a PhD in Geospatial and Environmental Analysis at Virginia Tech, complementing an impressive educational background that includes a Master of Public Administration with a focus on GIS and multiple certificates in geographic information science and remote sensing.

Welcome. Since HRSD's inception, there has been one overriding mission -- to protect public health and the waters of Hampton Roads by treating wastewater effectively. HRSD returns treated effluent to nature in a way that will continue to nurture our water's delicate ecosystems. HRSD's workforce of scientists, engineers, water quality professionals and other staff know they must be sensitive to the needs of people and also be sensitive to the plants and animals who rely on our ability to protect their habitats.
