Aleczander M. Whitfield

Aleczander M. Whitfield currently serves as the Assistant Vice President for Student Success and Dean of Students at Hampton University since October 2016, following previous roles including Dean of Students and Assistant Dean of Judicial Affairs and Housing. Prior to joining Hampton University, Aleczander held the position of Director of Student Activities at Johnson C. Smith University from September 2012 to October 2016. Aleczander's earlier experience includes serving as Assistant Director of Student Life and Assistant Director of Residence Life at the University of Detroit Mercy from August 2002 to September 2012. Academically, Aleczander earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Hampton University and a Master of Education degree from the University of Detroit Mercy.
