Jarris Louis Taylor

Jarris Louis Taylor, Jr., Ed.D., serves as the Director of Hampton University Online and the Director of the William R. Harvey Leadership Institute since August 2017. Prior experience includes roles as Deputy Assistant Secretary for the United States Department of Defense from December 2009 to January 2017, and Associate Director of the William R. Harvey Leadership Institute/Honors College at Hampton University from August 2006 to December 2009. Additionally, Jarris has worked as an Adjunct Professor at Norfolk State University. Jarris's extensive background within the United States Department of Defense spans from 1985 to 2005. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration and a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Development from The George Washington University, a Bachelor’s Degree from Hampton University, and two Associate’s Degrees from the Community College of the Air Force and Ball State University, respectively.
