Ann Kohatsu has extensive work experience in product strategy and innovation, particularly within the beauty industry. Ann is currently serving as the Head of Product at Hanni since September 2021. Prior to this, from January 2019 to August 2021, they worked as an Independent Consultant, providing expertise on various aspects of product strategy and innovation in the beauty sector.
From 2014 to 2018, Ann held the position of Sr. Director, Brand + Product Development at Mana Products. In this role, they led haircare product development for multiple businesses and developed patent-pending products that brought disruptive innovation to the hair category. Ann also created and launched a unique hair brand exclusively for Sephora and QVC.
Before joining Mana Products, Ann worked at L'Oreal, USA from 2008 to 2013 as the Director of Global Marketing. Prior to that, they worked at L'Oreal, UK from 2006 to 2008 as a Senior Product Manager, where they successfully managed skincare and haircare brands and exceeded market share and sales objectives.
Early in their career, Ann worked at Johnson & Johnson from 2001 to 2004 as an Assistant Product Director, primarily focused on skincare and haircare. Ann played a key role in driving the European region's 3-year brand plan, leading new product development, and generating innovative ideas through consumer insights.
