Susan Zellers has a solid work experience in the aviation planning and project management field. Susan started their career as a Sr. Airport Planning/Engineer at R.W. Armstrong, Inc. in 1992 and worked there until 2000. Susan then became a Principal (Co-Owner) at Aerofinity, Inc. from 2000 to 2010. Afterward, they joined Indianapolis Airport Authority as the Deputy Director of Planning and Development, where they directed strategic initiatives for planning, capital project development, and project management. Susan maintained strong relationships with stakeholders and regulatory agencies during their tenure. In 2015, Susan joined Hanson Professional Services Inc. as a Senior Aviation Planner. Susan later transitioned into the role of Senior Project Manager and Aviation Planning Lead in 2018. In this role, they provided project management services and served as the primary contact for the company's aviation planning services. Susan also mentored and led the aviation planning staff.
Susan Zellers earned their Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University between 1986 and 1990. Susan then went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from the same university, which they completed in 1991. In addition to their academic achievements, Susan also holds several certifications including being an Accredited Airport Executive from the American Association of Airport Executives, a Licensed Private Pilot with an Instrument Rating from the Federal Aviation Administration, and a Licensed Professional Engineer from the State of Indiana.
