Gautam Shankar has extensive work experience in the banking and financial services industry. Gautam is currently serving as the Vice President-Growth, Banking at Happay - Expense Management Solution for Businesses since July 2021. Prior to this role, they worked as the Director Bank Partnerships at Happay from February 2018 to June 2021. Before joining Happay, Gautam worked at Wibmo as the Director-Merchant Services, Mobile Payments from November 2016 to January 2018. Gautam also held the position of Head-Aggregator Business (with additional responsibility of Banking Alliances and Partnerships) at Ezetap Mobile Solutions Pvt. Ltd from April 2014 to November 2016. Gautam's previous experience includes working at HDFC Bank as the Zonal Head-Issuance and Merchant Acquiring, Payments Business from January 2005 to March 2014, and at Standard Chartered Bank as an Assistant Sales Manager from September 2001 to December 2004.

Gautam Shankar completed their Post Graduate Certificate in Project Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Indore in 2008. Before that, they attained a Bachelor of Business Management degree with a focus on Finance, Marketing, and General Management from SBRR Mahajana First Grade College in 2000. In the same period, they also obtained a Post Graduate Global Diploma in Sales and Marketing from the National Institute of Sales, NIS Sparta. Additionally, Gautam has attended Kendriya Vidyalaya, although the specific degree and field of study are unknown. In 2021, they obtained an Executive Certification in Fintech, Open Banking, and Financial Blockchain from The Digital Fifth Fintech School.
