Content Director, Localization at Happify

Abigail Frackenpohl has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Abigail started their career as an intern at the Oral History Association in 2008. Abigail then worked as a language assistant at IES Kursaal, where they taught English to Spanish adolescents and helped teachers with their lesson plans. Abigail continued their teaching career as an auxiliar de conversación at CEIP Hans Christian Andersen, where they taught English, Science, Art, and Physical Education to Spanish children.

In 2012, Abigail became self-employed and worked as an English and Piano teacher in Madrid. Abigail taught English as a Second Language to students of all ages and levels, including business English at La Vida Es Bella and exam preparation at a private academy. Additionally, they provided private lessons focusing on remedial help, grammar, vocabulary, and creative learning processes.

Abigail also gained experience as an ESL teacher and curriculum developer at LOI English. Abigail taught ESL via Skype to students globally and developed lesson plans for virtual learning. Abigail specialized in teaching Business English, official exam preparation, interview preparation, and virtual classes for children.

As a freelancer for various companies, Abigail worked as a translator, translating technical and legal documents from Spanish, French, and Portuguese into English. Abigail also edited and proofread the translated content, utilizing translation memory tools and working with Microsoft Word and Excel.

In 2013, Abigail interned at the India-EU Chamber of Commerce, where they researched and wrote articles on EU-India commerce issues. Abigail collaborated with the leader of the Spanish chapter to prepare presentations for conferences on bilateral agreements, tourism promotion, and other topics.

Abigail's most recent role has been at Twill as a Content Director, Localization since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked as an Editorial Content Manager at Twill from October 2017 to February 2022. Abigail'sresponsibilities in these roles include managing and directing content for localization, as well as overseeing editorial content.

Abigail Frackenpohl holds a Master's degree in Language Interpretation and Translation, which they obtained from Universidad Complutense de Madrid from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) at Dickinson College from 2005 to 2009, majoring in Spanish Language and Literature and Music Performance. In 2008, they also attended Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro for an unspecified period of time. Additionally, Abigail has a certification called TEFL Serious Teachers, although specific details about the institution and when they obtained it are not provided.
