Elizabeth Sacho

Virtual Lab Manager at HappiLabs

Elizabeth Sacho has held a variety of roles in the scientific and research fields since 2006. Elizabeth began their career as the sole proprietor of the UNC Branch of PhD Posters, a company providing high quality poster printing. In 2008, they became an American Cancer Society Hillcrest Committee of Southern Oregon Postdoctoral Fellow and Senior Fellow at the University of Washington, where they defined and characterized a new enzymatic activity, served as lab radiation safety officer, and collaborated with scientists to advance an institutional program project grant. From 2011 to 2015, they were a Postdoctoral Scholar at North Carolina State University. During that time, they were also a Scientific Services Intern at MedThink SciCom, where they developed a resource kit for medical writers and identified and evaluated new gap analysis resources. In 2015, they became a Virtual Lab Manager and Research Consultant and Assistant Virtual Lab Manager at HappiLabs.org, where they communicated with scientists to ensure they receive what they need to do their research, negotiated with suppliers for price discounts on equipment and supplies, organized and analyzed financial data from biotech companies, and participated in virtual meetings via Google Hangout.

Elizabeth Sacho obtained their BS in Chemistry from Illinois Wesleyan University between 1998 and 2002. Elizabeth then went on to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to pursue a Master's Degree in Chemistry, which they completed in 2005. Finally, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry, Biochemistry & Biophysics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2007.
