Hannah Taylor is the Purchasing Assistant at Happy Dirt. Hannah previously worked as a Wholesale Market Coordinator and Distribution Associate at Farmer Foodshare, an AmeriCorps VISTA with Wake County, and as a Brand Ambassador and Canvasser for CompostNow Inc. and the Fund for the Public Interest, respectively.
Hannah has always been passionate about food security and community development. Her work with Farmer Foodshare was focused on connecting local farmers and their produce with eaters in NC. As Distribution Associate, they managed the daily logistics and operations of the Farmer Foodshare Wholesale Market, including procurement, routes, and food safety, as well as higher level strategic planning.
Through their AmeriCorps VISTA service with Wake County, Hannah partnered with Wake County Human Services' Social and Economic Vitality program. Her role focused on community development and food security and they were responsible for developing strategic partnerships and coordinating effective and efficient service delivery as well as capacity building in partner grassroots organizations that address economic opportunity and food security.
Hannah's experience also includes working as a Brand Ambassador for CompostNow Inc., where they educated homeowners and businesses about the benefits of composting. As a Canvasser for the Fund for the Public Interest, they spoke with members of the public about environmental issues and encouraged them to take action.
Hannah's experience and passion make their a perfect fit for their current role as Purchasing Assistant at Happy Dirt. In this role, they are responsible for sourcing ingredients and supplies for the company's products, as well as managing vendor relationships. Hannah is also responsible for negotiating contracts and prices to get the best possible deals for the company.
Hannah Taylor attended an Equal Opportunity Institute and then went on to North Carolina State University where they obtained their Bachelor’s Degree in French Language and Literature and International Studies: Sustainability and Development.
