ABOUT HAPPY JOE'S PIZZA & ICE CREAM ® Headquartered in Davenport, Iowa, Happy Joe's Pizza was founded in 1972 by Lawrence “Joe” Whitty, a professional baker by trade otherwise known to everyone simply as Happy Joe. Our company started as a small, single, family-owned pizza and ice cream restaurant in the Village of East Davenport and has since grown to become an Iconic Midwestern pizza chain. We're known for our signature specialty pizzas, ice cream, birthday parties, Happy the Dog mascot and of course creating fun lasting memories for generations of guests! We have approximately 50 restaurants throughout the United States with franchisee owned locations in Florida, Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Texas, and Wisconsin. We are experiencing high growth and expansion Internationally as well, with our recently opened Roxy, Cairo, Egypt restaurant by Ahmed El Batran's family-owned franchise group HJ Happy Joe’s Middle East, LLC. Several more locations are under construction in Egypt that include Sodic, Mall of Arabia, Lotus, and Mall of Egypt. Additional development locations include 26th of July and New Cairo properties. HJ Happy Joe’s Middle East, LLC was awarded a master franchise agreement in 2022 for 10 countries and 25 units with expectations to expand the brand into other countries such as Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Sharjah, and Saudi Arabia in the next seven years. Our 2023 plans in the US market include new franchisee owned restaurants opening in Branson, Missouri; Navarre, Florida; and the Dallas, Texas metro area. Happy Joe's has been creating entrepreneurial self-confidence for existing and new franchisee owners through brand guidance, on-going training, and support within our franchise system for more than fifty years.
