Sean O'Hern

Sean O'Hern, Ph.D., P.E., CFEI, LEED(R) AP, is a highly experienced engineering professional currently serving as the Director of Forensics and Reliability at Harbor Freight Tools since December 2021. Previously, O'Hern held various roles at Exponent from November 2014 to December 2021, including Engineering Manager, Senior Engineer, and Engineer. O'Hern's research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology focused on developing advanced nanoporous graphene membranes for applications in desalination and water purification. Additional experience includes mechanical engineering at Wiegmann Associates, where O'Hern led significant HVAC projects, and early career roles in non-destructive testing and part inspection. O'Hern possesses a PhD and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology.
