Jim Begley

District Manager, Transmission & Distribution at Harlan Electric Company

Jim has served as district manager of Harlan Electric’s transmission and distribution operations since 2016. He joined Harlan Electric as a journeyman in 2006 holding roles of increasing responsibility as general foreman, construction manager, and operations manager. As district manager, he is responsible for overseeing the strategic growth and development of the Mid-Atlantic district, which includes project management, assuring efficient operations, and developing employee and customer relations.

In his 20-plus years of electrical construction experience, Jim has worked on many projects in the Northeast, including The National Grid Alliance contract in New York. His extensive expertise includes overhead and underground distribution and transmission, energy and safety management systems, power distribution, construction management, procurement, and employee and customer relations.

Before joining Harlan Electric, Jim spent four years as an IBEW Journeyman upon completion of the Northeast Apprenticeship and Training program. He continues his industry support and leadership on the Local Union 126 Apprenticeship Board. Supporting his career, James is a graduate of The University at Albany and has completed numerous safety, leadership, and management programs.
