Melissa Nieto has extensive experience in education, working in various roles over the years. Melissa began their career in 1992 as an Elementary School Teacher at Weslaco Independent School District. From there, they progressed to become a Campus Instructional Facilitator and then a Dean of Instruction. In 2003, they transitioned to the role of Elementary School Principal before finally serving as the Director for Human Resources from 2009 to 2014. In 2014, they joined Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District as the Director for Human Services - Secondary Education, where they are currently employed.
