Gerry Melly has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Gerry started their career as a New Products/Snr Sales Engineer at Volex in 1991 and was later promoted to Senior Sales Engineer, responsible for developing key global accounts. In 1997, they joined ACT Manufacturing as the European Sales Manager, focusing on expanding their cable assembly and PCB business in Europe.
In 1999, Gerry co-founded PCH International, an Irish company, and served as the Co-Owner and Business Development Director until 2003. During this time, they also worked as a Business Development Consultant, assisting European manufacturing companies in finding strategic partners in Taiwan and China.
From 2004 to 2009, Gerry worked at Volex Ltd. as the Sales and Marketing Director for Europe, India, and South America. Gerry played a crucial role in supplying power cords and cable assemblies to various industries across the globe.
In 2012, Gerry joined Zeus Industrial Products, Inc. as the Director of Sales - EMEA, leading the company's sales growth and strategy for precision polymer extrusions and biomaterial sutures.
Afterwards, from 2018 to 2019, they worked at Adhesives Research, Inc. as the Director of Sales EMEA, supporting industrial sectors and key customers in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors.
Currently, Gerry is the Director of Business Development at Harmac Medical Products, a global contract manufacturer of single-use medical devices. Gerry oversees the company's integrated services from concept to packaging and sterilization, contributing to their recent recognition as the Medtech Partner/Supplier of the Year in 2022.
Throughout their career, Gerry Melly has demonstrated their expertise in sales, business development, and strategic planning, particularly within the medical and manufacturing sectors.
Gerry Melly obtained a Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering from the University of Limerick from 1987 to 1991. In 2005, they enrolled at Trinity College Dublin and completed a Master's degree in International Business from 2005 to 2007. Additionally, in 2006, they attended IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland, to study Orchestrating Winning Performance for a year. Furthermore, in 2007, Gerry Melly participated in a leading business program at Babson College in Boston, MA.
