Fred Owens is the Vice President and Head of Intellectual Property at HARMAN International, where they lead a global team managing diverse intellectual property matters across the company's various businesses. Since December 2012, they have supported the addition of eleven new entities to HARMAN, focusing on strengthening brands and optimizing investment value. Prior to this role, Fred served as Intellectual Property Counsel at Ford, handling patent strategies across multiple divisions, and experienced the international landscape in their role as assistant IP counsel for Jaguar and Land Rover. Fred holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
