Andrew Cathie

Head of Data Science at Harmoney

Andrew Cathie has extensive work experience in the field of data science and analytics. Andrew started their career as a SAS consultant at BT Ignite in 2001 before moving on to work as a senior consultant at Descisys in 2002. In 2002, they also established their own company, Business Intelligence Group Ltd, where they served as the owner until 2008.

From 2003 to 2006, Andrew worked at Pacific Retail Finance (NZ) Ltd as the manager of credit analysis and manager of business intelligence, where they focused on credit scorecard development and business intelligence architecture.

In 2006, Andrew joined Flexirent as an analytics consultant, where they worked on data warehouse design and development, report systems, OLAP construction, and direct marketing analysis systems until 2008.

Afterwards, Andrew served as an associate director at Deloitte in 2008 and as a principal at Acuitas Ltd in 2009.

From 2010 to 2013, Andrew worked as a senior consultant at SAS before joining Harmoney Ltd in 2013 as the head of data science. At Harmoney, Andrew played a significant role in establishing the peer-to-peer lending platform and has helped over 45,000 customers borrow more than $1 million.

In addition to their professional experience, Andrew has also worked as a data warehouse consultant at Salford Systems in 2007, where they focused on customer data warehouse development, data design for web log data mining, and text mining analysis.

Andrew Cathie completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science and Operations Research from Victoria University of Wellington from 1979 to 1983. Later, they pursued a Master's Degree in Applied Statistics from Swinburne University of Technology from 2012 to 2014. Additionally, Andrew Cathie has also attended Victoria University of Wellington, but the specific details about the degree and field of study for this period are unknown.
