Alex Zhou

Alex Zhou is a Sr. Mechatronics Engineer at Harmonic Drive LLC since October 2018, specializing in custom and next-generation actuator design and performance verification. Previous roles include Senior Design Engineer at Applied Motion Products, focusing on new product development and motion control systems, and Controller Engineer at KLD Energy Technologies, coordinating between electrical and mechanical teams for propulsion system development. Alex began a career at Stanley Black & Decker, leading innovative projects involving sensorless technology and testing for motor performance. Early experience includes working as an Application/Systems Engineer at Texas Instruments and serving as a Teaching and Research Assistant at Oregon State University, where involvement with high-power test systems and research on linear actuators took place. Alex holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Oregon State University and an M.S. in electrical engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
