Dustin Smith has a diverse work experience in the field of gender and evaluation. Dustin started their career in 2012 as a Program Associate at Freedom House, where they provided support to civil society organizations. In the same year, they also worked as a Junior Professional Associate at The World Bank, conducting research on violence against women and girls in South Asia and providing policy recommendations.

In 2014, Dustin served as an AIF William J. Clinton Fellow at Jagori, managing a research project on gender-based violence in India. Dustin designed data collection tools and facilitated focus group discussions.

From 2015 to 2018, Dustin worked as a Gender Consultant at The World Bank. Dustin prepared a strategic plan for the bank's engagement on gender issues in South Asia and contributed to strategic assessments of the water and sanitation sectors in Nigeria and Bangladesh.

In 2017, Dustin joined EnCompass LLC as a Gender and Evaluation Specialist. Dustin managed a team of staff and consultants to conduct gender analyses in Uganda and Ethiopia, producing comprehensive reports for USAID.

Most recently, since December 2020, Dustin has been working as the Director of Evaluation and Subscriber Support at the Harold Grinspoon Foundation. Further details of this role are not provided.

Dustin Smith began their education at Brandeis University in 2005 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science in 2008. Dustin then furthered their education at Harvard University from 2008 to 2011, earning a Master of Divinity degree. In 2011, Dustin also completed a Urdu Language Program at the American Institute of Indian Studies (AIIS).
