David Putnam

David Putnam is the current Head of Development at HarQen, a position they have held for 11 months. Prior to this, they were a Member of Milwaukee SPIN for 5 years. David has also worked at Harqen for 3 years 9 months, where they held the titles of Head Of (Software) Development, Senior Software Engineer. In their role as Head Of Development, David led three employees and several contractors while defining architecture and development for: machine learning / artificial intelligence, automated workflows, expanding the application beyond the hiring problem domain, managing production and test deployments, supervising adherence to the Secure Software Development Life Cycle standards, and advancing application and corporate security. David also managed vendor relationships to provide 24/7 operational support, security scans, etc. Some of the vendors they worked with include Onix, Checkpoint Dome9, Checkpoint Infinity WAAP, Jive Phone system, and Spectrum Fiber Internet service. David also implemented changes to support SOC2 requirements, including developing a Secure Software Development Life Cycle, deploying a Mobile Device Management system, and migrating from self-hosted bare Git repositories to Google Cloud Source Repositories. David also converted a python3 based build process to a triggered Cloud Build and pipelined deployment, added security code standard violation and common flaw detection, implemented VM based development machines to restrict access to source, created a DevOps role, and migrated VM access from user based SSH keys to Google's Identity Aware Proxy. In addition, David coordinated with HR on process development to Onboard and Offboard employees, implemented external security audits, implemented IT and Application change ticketing system, and documented a BC/DR plan and its execution. David has also developed features that enhance video, voice and SMS asynchronous interviews and maintained and developed infrastructure to handle growth. David has also collaborated to create strategy and technology road map and managed three consultants and several vendor relationships. David has also designed the architecture and planned product deployments, system upgrades and maintenance. David has also maintained web certificates, DNS records and corporate web site. Additionally, David has managed VOIP phone system based on Elastix and maintained global SIP network with phone numbers in many countries.

David Putnam has a BSCS from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, a certificate in Engineering Project Management from the Milwaukee School of Engineering, and a diploma in College prep courses from Menomonee Falls North High School. David has also taken continuing education courses in Computer Science from Blackhawk Technical College and is an Ethical AI Professional from the Ethical AI Consortium, Inc.
