Greg Mirhej

VP, Behavioral Health at Harrington HealthCare System

Greg Mirhej attended McGill University as an undergraduate, University of Michigan for fine arts, and University of Connecticut for a Masters in Social Work. He has been involved in the behavioral health field for 25 years, overseeing the first pilot program for homeless individuals with mental illness for the federal government of Canada, coordinating the downsizing of state psychiatric hospitals, consulting to the Commissioner of Mental Health and Substance Abuse for the State of Connecticut, and as a research scientist and Director of Urban Outreach for Addictions at Yale University. He has been actively involved in improving access to treatment, including Intensive Outreach programs, Drug Courts focused on young adults, and the development of Medication Assisted Treatment for those with substance use disorders. He is an adjunct professor of psychology and has been published in numerous journals including Harvard Health Policy Review and the Journal of Drug Issues.
