Richard Basile

Richard Basile serves as an Intellectual Property Partner and Co-Leader of the IP Practice Group at Harris Beach Murtha, a firm formed by the merger of Murtha Cullina LLP and Harris Beach PLLC in January 2025. Prior to this role, Richard held the position of Intellectual Property Attorney and Partner at Murtha Cullina LLP from July 2018 to December 2024, and was an Intellectual Property Partner at St. Onge Steward Johnston & Reens LLC from June 1999 to June 2018. Earlier in Richard's career, experience included roles as an Intellectual Property Attorney at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP and Amster Rothstein & Ebenstein LLP, and as a Technical Sales Engineer at The Torrington Company. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Union College.
