Johnathon Blue, BAAS, LP, is a seasoned professional in emergency services with extensive experience in hazardous materials management and emergency response. Currently serving as a Hazardous Materials Specialist at the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office since July 2020, Johnathon possesses a comprehensive understanding of standards for handling hazardous chemicals, conducting assessments, and responding to crises. Previously, Johnathon worked for the Houston Fire Department from November 2007 to July 2019 as a Firefighter/Hazmat/Paramedic, where responsibilities included patient care management, advanced life support delivery, and scene leadership. Johnathon holds a Bachelor's degree in Fire and Emergency Services Administration with a Concentration in Homeland Security from Texas A&M University-San Antonio, along with two Associate degrees in Emergency Medical Services and Fire Science from Lone Star College. Currently, Johnathon is pursuing a Master of Public Administration at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

The Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office is a fire protection/law enforcement agency that provides essential public safety services, primarily in unincorporated areas of Harris County. HCFMO relies on a “customer first” operating philosophy to achieve agency goals, balance community risks from fires or other emergencies, and encourage strong, sustainable economic development. The Fire Marshal is appointed by Commissioners Court to a term not to exceed two years. HCFMO employees are fire protection personnel certified by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (“TCFP”) and, where required by law, employees are peace officers licensed by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (“TCOLE”).
