Laurie Christensen, CFPS, FM, FEMT, TEM, M.S., has extensive experience in fire safety and emergency management, currently serving as Fire Marshal for Harris County Fire Marshal's Office since 2004. With a commitment to public safety in one of the largest counties in the U.S., Laurie's previous roles include Chief Deputy and Assistant Chief, alongside positions as a Fire Inspector and Investigator. In addition to this extensive fieldwork, Laurie is an adjunct instructor at both Sam Houston State University and Prairie View A&M University, teaching courses on global terrorism, homeland security, and ethical decision-making in criminal justice. Prior experience also includes roles as Fire Marshal for the City of La Porte and Deputy Fire Marshal for the City of Pasadena, as well as significant work in emergency response and industrial safety with companies such as Chevron Phillips Chemical and Simpson Lumber. Laurie's educational background includes advanced degrees in Criminal Justice and Homeland Security from notable institutions like Texas A&M University and Sam Houston State University.
