Heather Jinkins Cantu

Heather Jinkins Cantu is an experienced policy advisor currently serving as the Senior Policy Advisor for Harris County Precinct One Commissioner Rodney Ellis since January 2023. Prior to this role, Heather held various positions including Deputy Director of Public Affairs and Interim Deputy Executive Director at the Harris County Toll Road Authority from April 2020 to January 2023, and Senior Policy Advisor at Harris County Precinct One from April 2019 to April 2020. Heather's career also includes significant roles at the Texas Medical Center as Public Affairs Manager, and at the National Association of Community Health Centers as Federal Affairs Manager, along with previous legislative positions in both the Texas House of Representatives and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Heather Jinkins Cantu holds a Master’s degree in Communication Management from the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin.
