James Handscombe

James Handscombe is an experienced educational leader currently serving as Executive Principal of Harris Federation since April 2022, overseeing Harris Westminster Sixth Form and Harris Clapham Sixth Form. As the Founding Principal of Harris Westminster Sixth Form, established in 2014, James has significantly contributed to providing exceptional academic opportunities for students across London, achieving notable successes such as seven students securing Oxbridge places in the school's inaugural year. Past roles include Deputy Headteacher at Bexley Grammar School, where leadership encompassed curriculum decisions and staffing, and Mathematics Consultant for the Department for Education, focusing on curriculum quality assurance. James holds a Master's degree in Mathematics from Harvard University and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Oxford.
