Dr. Lacrystal Gordon Dnp, Mba, Rn, Cpps, Cenp

Dr. LaCrystal Gordon has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Dr. LaCrystal has held various leadership roles in different organizations.

In 2005, they started their career as a Staff Nurse at Lutheran Health Network, where they worked until 2013. During this time, they also served as a Nurse Manager and later as the Patient Experience Director.

In 2015, Dr. Gordon became an Assistant Chief Nursing Officer at Lutheran Health Network and held this position until 2016. Dr. LaCrystal then took on the role of Interim Chief Nursing Officer for a few months before being promoted to the position of Chief Nursing Officer, a role they held until 2017.

In 2017, they joined Harris Regional Hospital and Swain Community Hospital, both Duke LifePoint Hospitals, as the Chief Nursing Officer. Dr. LaCrystal held this position at both hospitals.

Currently, Dr. Gordon is the Market Chief Nursing Officer at Haywood Regional Medical Center, another Duke LifePoint Hospital.

Dr. LaCrystal Gordon, DNP, MBA, RN, CPPS, CENP, CPHQ, has pursued an extensive education to strengthen their knowledge and skills in various healthcare fields. Dr. LaCrystal'seducational journey began in 2014 when they obtained their Bachelor's degree in Nursing Science from Western Governors University. Dr. LaCrystal then went on to pursue a Master of Science (M.S.) in Nursing from the same institution, which they successfully completed in 2016.

In 2020, Dr. Gordon furthered their education by completing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from Western Governors University. Building upon this foundation, they enrolled at Capella University in 2021 and acquired a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree.

Complementing their formal education, Dr. Gordon has also obtained several certifications to enhance their professional expertise. Dr. LaCrystal became a Certified Executive in Nursing Practice through the American Organization for Nursing Leadership. Moreover, Dr. Gordon holds the designation of Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), awarded by the National Association for Healthcare Quality. Additionally, they have obtained the certification of Certified Professional in Patient Safety from the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Open School - Ryerson University Chapter. Dr. Gordon is also affiliated with the IHI Open School, further strengthening their knowledge and involvement in healthcare initiatives.
