Matthew Royal has worked in various roles in the education and music industry. Starting in 2011, they worked as a Music Educator and Summer Academy Coordinator at the Clarkstown Central School District until 2022. During this time, Matthew also served as a Young Artist at the Crested Butte Music Festival in 2011. Additionally, they worked as a Music Leave Replacement at the Nanuet Union Free School District from April 2011 to June 2011, where they organized performances and encouraged student engagement with the curriculum. Matthew's most recent role is as the Director of Fine and Performing Arts at the Harrison Central School District, which they started in June 2022.
Matthew Royal has a strong educational background in the field of music and education. Matthew first attended the State University of New York College at Potsdam from 2004 to 2008, where they obtained a Bachelor of Music degree with a focus on Vocal Performance and Music Education. Matthew then pursued further studies at the same institution from 2008 to 2010, earning a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance.
In 2021 and 2022, Matthew enrolled at SUNY New Paltz, where they completed a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership and Administration, with a specialization in General Educational Leadership and Administration.
More recently, Matthew attended the Harvard Graduate School of Education from 2023 to 2024, obtaining a Certificate in School Management and Leadership with a focus on Educational Administration and Supervision.
