Sony Mascreen has extensive work experience in the manufacturing industry, with a focus on steel casting. They started their career in 2002 as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Missouri-Rolla, where they conducted research on shell cracking in the investment casting industry. Following this, they worked as a Program Coordinator at the Office of International Affairs, where they recruited and oriented students as well as organized events for international students.
In 2004, they joined Harrison Steel Casting Co. as a Process Engineer in Finishing Operations, where they identified process improvements and implemented solutions to improve product flow. They then moved to the role of Operations Manager in 2006, responsible for day-to-day operations of three Electric Arc Furnaces. They also played a pivotal role in production planning, scheduling, and quality initiatives, achieving a significant reduction in melting scrap.
Afterward, they became a Six Sigma Black Belt/TPM Manager, leading various strategic business initiatives and serving as a mentor for Green Belts. They were also involved in Kaizen events for continuous improvement throughout the plant.
In 2010, Sony Mascreen became the Plant Manager at Harrison Steel Casting Co., overseeing overall plant operations. Finally, in 2012, they were promoted to the role of Director of Operations at Harrison Steel Castings Co., where they continue to contribute their expertise.
Sony Mascreen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calicut, GEC Thrissur, where they studied from 1997 to 2000. They later pursued a Master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology, completing their studies from 2001 to 2003.
