Michael Downey

Michael Downey is an experienced educator currently serving as a Teacher, Head of Mandarin, and Deputy House Master at Harrow International School Bangkok since August 2019. Previously, Michael held the position of Teacher of Chinese and EAL at Cheltenham Ladies' College from August 2016 to July 2019. Prior roles include Administrator at SOAS, Director of Studies at STS Language Schools, and Tutor at EF Education First. Michael's academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Applied Linguistics from the University of Oxford, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education in Modern Languages from UCL, and a Bachelor's degree in Chinese from SOAS University of London, alongside an exchange program at Beijing Normal University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Reptile Studies from TECH Global University.
