Lexie Akers

Lexie Akers is a dedicated recreation therapist with experience in community-based therapy for individuals of all ages at New Wave Wellness since November 2023. In addition, Lexie has served as a recreational therapist and mental health technician at Harsha Behavioral Center since October 2019. Previous experience includes an internship in recreation therapy at Deaconess Cross Pointe and a role as a shift leader at Hardees Restaurants. While working at the Terre Haute Children's Museum, Lexie contributed as a program manager, developing and implementing a STEM-integrated program for local Boy Scouts. Lexie holds a Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation/Recreational Therapy from Indiana State University, earned between 2017 and 2021.
