Alec Cordova has a range of work experience in software quality assurance engineering. Alec started their career as a HW/SW Test Engineer at Dell in 2004, where they performed testing of systems management software on various server hardware. From 2005 to 2006, they worked as a Senior QA Analyst at GTech, leading QA efforts during a major product upgrade development cycle for lottery and gaming applications.
In 2006, Cordova joined Harcourt as a QA Lead for a brief period before transitioning to Dell MessageOne, where they served as a QA Engineer III from 2006 to 2008. During their time at Dell MessageOne, they created and executed test plans for a large and complex multi-tier email disaster recovery and archive suite.
From 2010 to 2012, Cordova worked as a Software QA Engineer at Giganews, where they were a founding member of the software QA team. Alec supported the creation, release, and maintenance of new end-user applications, and advocated for QA within the software development organization.
Starting in 2012, Cordova served as a Senior QA Engineer for Crossroads Systems, responsible for testing the newest product line. Alec then moved on to MaxPoint in 2013, where they worked as a Senior Quality Engineer on back-end development teams in a marketing technology company. Alec'scontributions included improving regression and data consistency test coverage by rearchitecting the test suite to leverage Hadoop cluster processing.
In 2017, Cordova joined RightPlace Consulting, LLC as a Software QA Engineer for a consulting project with Daimler on Autonomous Vehicles for Mercedes-Benz. Alec played a key role in raising project quality and confidence through the introduction of manual integration testing for components.
In 2018, Cordova became a Lead IT Specialist at Allied Security Links, where they applied technology to enhance the speed, quality, and reproducibility of tasks and processes. Alec implemented an improved workflow tracking system in JIRA and quickly learned website management tools to promptly complete important updates.
Most recently, Cordova has been working as a Sr. Software QA Engineer at Hart InterCivic since 2019.
Alec Cordova completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from The University of Texas at Austin, where they studied from 1982 to 1987.
