Kris Rucker has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of software development and management. Kris started their career as a Software Developer at RaceTrac Petroleum in 1997. Kris then worked at ESD as a Senior Software Developer and later as the Director of Software Development, where they managed a team of developers and was responsible for all IT projects.
After ESD, Kris joined Gilbarco Veeder Root as a Senior Software Developer, where they designed various components and applications for the POS software development department. Kris worked with multiple programming languages such as Visual Basic, C++, Java, and VB.
Following Gilbarco Veeder Root, Kris transitioned to Sungard OSSI as a Software Developer III. Kris played a significant role in rewriting the company's flagship product, OneSolution CAD, from Visual FoxPro to C# 2010. Kris's responsibilities included development, architecture and design, mentoring colleagues, and SCRUM team management.
Kris then joined SunGard Public Sector as a Development Manager, where they managed three different teams, including maintenance and CAD development teams. Kris oversaw all aspects of development, from defining backlogs to code reviews and personnel decisions.
After SunGard Public Sector, Kris worked at Superion as a Senior Development Manager. Kris managed six teams and led them in rewriting legacy applications into modern technologies like HTML5, JavaScript, and C#.
Currently, Kris holds the position of Director of Software Development at CentralSquare Technologies. Kris oversees all developmental operations for the company's Enterprise product line and manages seven teams, focusing on public safety software.
Finally, Kris has recently been appointed as the Vice President of Software Engineering at Hart InterCivic, starting in 2023.
Kris Rucker attended Heritage High School from 1988 to 1992. After completing high school, Kris went on to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from Auburn University, where they studied from 1992 to 1997.
