Axel Scheele

Teacher Masterclass AWS at Harvest

Axel Scheele has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Axel started their career as a Formula Student Engineer at TU Delft Formula Student Racing Team, where they were involved in designing, producing, and testing a car for a formula type racing competition.

After that, Axel worked as an Intern at the medical technology laboratory of Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli, where they conducted research on the human spine and published an article on spinal alignment for mechanical testing.

Axel then pursued their Master's Thesis Project at TU Delft, focusing on developing a method for patient-specific numerical assessment of total knee prostheses. This involved creating meshes and performing finite element analysis using CT images and STL images of implants.

Axel later served as an Enterprise Architect and FEM Specialist at VERWATER, where they created an architectural design and roadmap for the development of the engineering department, emphasizing automation and proactive engineering. Axel also selected and developed software to integrate drawing, calculation, and project management into a single application.

At Capgemini Nederland, Axel worked as a Senior Software Engineer, contributing to various software projects.

Axel joined Harvest as a Teacher for the Masterclass AWS, where they trained data scientists on using data science tools provided by AWS, including data lake creation, data workflows, and dataset search.

Currently, Axel is working at NAVARA as a Lead Engineer, responsible for enhancing the reliability and scalability of IT systems for a fast-growing startup specializing in parcel distribution. In previous roles at NAVARA, they also served as a Senior Software Engineer and Scrum Master, involved in building enterprise apps for iOS and Android and setting up a new backend on Azure.

Throughout their career, Axel has shown expertise in software engineering, technical design, data enrichment platforms, and software innovation.

Axel Scheele attended Delft University of Technology from 2007 to 2014, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Biomedical/Mechanical Engineering. Prior to that, from 2007 to 2011, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same university. In addition to their academic qualifications, Axel also holds several certifications, including Professional Scrum Master (PSM I) from Scrum.org, obtained in September 2016, and Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 8 Programmer from Oracle, obtained in March 2016.
