Harvey Mudd College
Kris Kuramitsu is an accomplished art historian and curator with extensive experience in academia and the arts sector. Currently serving as an Adjunct Professor of Art History at Harvey Mudd College since January 2022, Kuramitsu also holds the position of Curator for the Candlewood Arts Festival with the Under the Sun Foundation since January 2018. As an independent curator and art/philanthropic consultant since March 2006, Kuramitsu has developed a diverse portfolio. Previously, senior roles included Senior Curator at Large and Deputy Director at The Mistake Room until September 2022, Associate Director at Artis from 2013 to 2014, and advisor with United States Artists from 2006 to 2013. Kuramitsu was the Director of Arts Programs at the Peter Norton Family Foundation from October 2001 to February 2006. Kris Kuramitsu holds a Master of Arts in Art History from UCLA (2000) and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Pomona College (1993).
