David Thurston

David Thurston is a seasoned maritime professional with extensive experience in various roles. Since June 1990, David has served as a Senior Marine Pilot at Harwich Haven Authority, while simultaneously holding the position of Launch Authority at RNLI Harwich since July 2016. Additionally, David has been a Lifeboat Operations Manager and has contributed to Trinity House since July 2006. Previously, David was the Chairman at Felixstowe & Haven Ports Seafarers Service from March 2011 to March 2016 and worked as Chief Officer at P&O Ferries from January 1986 to June 1990. David's maritime education includes studies at the College of Maritime Studies in Warsash from 1976 to 1985 and at Dover Grammar School for Boys from 1970 to 1975.
