Toshiya Akiyama

Toshiya Akiyama currently serves as the Director of Investments at HASI, a prominent climate-positive investment firm with over $11 billion in managed assets, since 2023. Prior to this role, Toshiya spent nearly a decade at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, where responsibilities included leading the financing of complex energy and infrastructure projects valued at over $2 billion in emerging markets. Earlier positions included roles at UniCredit, ThomasLloyd Group, Deutsche Bank, Citigroup, and J.P. Morgan, primarily in investment banking and structured finance. Toshiya holds an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Georgetown University, a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University, and has completed a year of study in Japanese at International Christian University.
