Vanessa Butler

Vanessa Butler is an accomplished marketing and communications professional with extensive experience in educational institutions and public organizations. Currently serving as the Director of Marketing & Communications at Lawrence School since June 2019, Vanessa has also been a part-time Fine Art Faculty member and Director of Marketing at Hathaway Brown School since 2007. At Hathaway Brown, responsibilities included overseeing a comprehensive re-branding project that involved developing a new vision statement and identity guidelines, as well as creating various marketing materials. Prior experience includes roles as Director of Publications & Brand Management and Senior Graphic Designer at Cuyahoga County Public Library, where Vanessa implemented a visual re-branding plan for numerous branches. Vanessa began a career in graphic design at Triad Communications, Inc., working with various academic accounts. Academic qualifications include dual Bachelor’s degrees in Visual Communication & Design and Fine Art Education from Kent State University, along with participation in the Bridge Builder Program for Leadership & Civic Engagement at the Cleveland Leadership Center.
