Jean-Philippe Wurtz

Jean-Philippe Wurtz serves as Program Director at ROYAUMONT - abbaye & fondation since August 2015, overseeing the Musical Creation Department and curating various musical events. Additionally, Jean-Philippe is the Artistic Director of the Voix Nouvelles Academy and Programm and has held the role of Managing Director at ENSEMBLE LINEA since May 2003, leading this prominent ensemble for contemporary music. Jean-Philippe also contributes as a Professor of Conducting at Haute école des arts du Rhin since June 2017, guiding students towards a Master Degree in Orchestral Conducting. Previous positions include Artistic Director at the Royaumont Foundation from August 2015 to August 2019 and Director of the Festival Champs Libres from June 2006 to June 2010. Educational qualifications include a Postgraduate Degree in Conducting from the Eötvös International Institute and a Master’s degree in Visual and Performing Arts from Music High School Karlsruhe, among others.
