Mark H. Yamakawa

Mark Yamakawa currently serves as Senior Vice President at HMSA since October 2022. Prior to this role, Yamakawa was the President and CEO at Hawaii Dental Service from November 2014 until June 2022. Between 2011 and October 2014, Yamakawa held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at The Queen's Health Systems/The Queen's Medical Center. Yamakawa also served as President of Queen's Development Corporation from 2000 to 2012 and President of Queen Emma Land Company from 2008 to 2011. Earlier roles include Vice President of Corporate Development at The Queen's Health Systems from 1997 to 2000 and various positions at The Queen's Medical Center from 1985 to 1997. Yamakawa’s career began as an Industrial Engineer at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard in 1983, following a role as a Production Planning Supervisor at GTE Hawaiian Telephone. Yamakawa holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and Decision Sciences from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of California, Berkeley.
