Christopher Cabrera

Associate Principal Timpanist at Hawai‘i Symphony Orchestra

Christopher Cabrera serves as the General Manager for Chamber Music Hawai‘i since March 2023 and holds the position of Associate Principal Timpanist with the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra since September 2017. Cabrera also works as a Percussion Substitute for the Royal Hawaiian Band under the City and County of Honolulu and has been a Community Outreach Instructor for Hawaii Youth Symphony since July 2019, focusing on various educational initiatives. Additionally, Cabrera has served as Percussion Faculty for the Pacific Music Institute and was a music teacher at Niu Valley Middle School with the Hawaii State Department of Education from August 2022 to March 2023. Educational qualifications include a Master’s of Music in Percussion from the Cleveland Institute of Music and a Bachelor’s of Music in Percussion from Oberlin College.
